The Level 3 qualifications in First Line Management have been developed for junior managers, supervisors and first line managers who have operational responsibility for a defined area of activity and who wish to build on and develop their existing management skills and knowledge. This qualification gives junior managers the communication and motivational skills to help improve operational efficiency.


These qualifications are designed for team leaders, to support the development of their skills in leading a team, making sure that the team’s work achieves organisational objectives, and contributes to planning, problem solving and decision making.  


These 3 courses are all completed via distance learning.


There are 3 options for studying at Level 3 dependant on the size of qualification you wish to achieve;


Award – 6 credits

Our Level 3 Award in First Line Management provides an introduction to the skills, roles and responsibilities of this management area. It will also develop your basic knowledge by focusing on the development of specific management skills.


Learners need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 6 credits. The minimum Total Qualification Time is 60 hours, including 20 Guided Learning Hours. 


Certificate – 13 credits

A more extensive qualification, our Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management gives you a broader knowledge of effective management skills while focusing on the specific management areas appropriate to you and your workplace.


Learners need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 13 credits. The minimum Total Qualification Time is 130 hours, including 40 Guided Learning Hours.


Diploma – 37 Credits

With a more comprehensive structure, our Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management gives you all the key skills and competencies you'll need to become an effective first line manager.


Learners need to complete 5 mandatory units and any combination of units to a minimum of 7 credits from the optional units. Learners need to complete a total of 37 credits to achieve this qualification. The minimum Total Qualification Time is 370 hours, including 120 Guided Learning Hours.
